We live in Northeast Nebraska by Wayne. They are comparing this winter to 1948, but it sounds like this has been worse. I hate the thought of spring at this point because we will be in soup! Who knows when I will get to plant my garden.
Thanks for all the pictures and updates on your horses!
Blessings,

Here in New Jersey, we've been enjoying the sunshine for a few days too. I thought I wanted all the snow to melt and go away, but.... when it melts, it makes MUD! We had a very rainy day today and the mud was up to my knees. I think the horses liked the snow better.

Isn't it wonderful to see the sun?! Daffodils and crocus? We have mountains of snow to melt first! My garden is under at least 10 feet of snow. My daughter climbed the top of it and could see in our attic window! We are averaging a blizzard per week. We haven't one this week yet, just blowing snow. Yeah! I think I know what it is like to live in the Arctic now instead of the Midwest.

We had a whole week of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 30's during the day for almost all of February! Very very unusual for N. MN.

Horses are shedding like crazy. The donkey is thinking he will wait on the shedding until he is absolutely sure there will be no more cold weather and/or snow -- he will start to shed maybe in April?

Snow is still at least knee deep in the fields and we have a six foot high snow drift along the snow fence that will take a long time to melt. I look at my saddles and bridles and dream of rides to come.

Thank you Joe and Kathleen for sharing your world and the beautiful pictures.

Yes, Cash. We were singing a duet. Not really. I can't carry a tune. He can, but I can't.

At least you got to enjoy a few days worth. We too are enjoying the sun in the Pacific NW but the rain will be back tomorrow night or Wed.

My two goats run around like goof balls kicking up their heels.

They don't roll like horses do. I wish they did. Instead, they sit in the sun chewing their cuds and nap with their heads resting on each other's hip. Very sweet to see.

So...what is the story behind that first photo??? Is that Cash?

I have always loved Mouse's long face, she is adorable.

Sparrow rolled over 7 times the other day! My husband was on the phone with me (he was home I was in my office), he said, "Sparrow and Summit are both rolling! Wow, Sparrow has rolled over 3 times...4 times...5 times...SIX times...Oh my gosh, SEVEN times!! Poor Summit never made it over even though he rolled around a lot." I missed it all...oh well. Summit, being 24 and a big Percheron cross, hasn't made it all the way over yet (that I have seen)...I still believe he will one day. Maybe in the SPRING!!

Thanks for the new photos...
Be safe,
Jane
